About MICFL2024

The 8th Malaysia International Conference on Foreign Languages 2024 (MICFL 2024), organised by the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication with the theme "Integrating Culture into Language Teaching and Learning: Learner Outcomes".

In the effort to expand and enhance the teaching and learning of especially foreign languages in Malaysia, the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, UPM, has taken the initiative and responsibility to organise a series of foreign language conferences. The first conference was held on 12- 13 July 2002 titled ‘International Conference on Foreign Language Studies 2002 (COFLAS 2002). In the wake of the success of that international conference, five (5) other international conferences were held in the years 2007, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2021, under the dignified name ‘Malaysia International Conference on Foreign Languages (MICFL).

In continuity to the last conference, the 8th MICFL will be held on 24-25 April 2024 with the theme "Integrating Culture into Language Teaching and Learning: Learner Outcomes". It is hopeful that the MICFL 2024 this time will draw more foreign language experts, both local and foreign, to further provide more meaningful contributions to the expansion and development of teaching and learning of especially foreign languages in Malaysia, and regional countries in general.
